The Effect of Work Stress and Work Environment on Employee Performance at PT Bina Mandiri Prima Persada

Abstract

Human resources are an important factor in supporting the achievement of organizational goals. This study aims to analyze the effects of work stress and work environment on employee performance at PT Bina Mandiri Prima Persada, both partially and simultaneously. This research employed a quantitative method with a causal approach. The study population consisted of 58 employees, all of whom were included as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires, observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. The analyses included validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, t-tests, an F-test, and the coefficient of determination. The results indicate that work stress has no significant effect on employee performance, with a t-value of 1.800 and a significance level of 0.077. In contrast, the work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a t-value of 2.802 and a significance level of 0.007. Simultaneously, work stress and work environment significantly affect employee performance, with an F-value of 6.286 and a significance level of 0.003. The coefficient of determination of 0.186 indicates that both variables explain 18.6% of the variation in employee performance, while the remaining 81.4% is associated with other factors outside the research model. These findings highlight the importance of improving work environment quality to support employee performance.
