Abstract

Technological developments and social media trends have contributed to changes in modern lifestyles and the emergence of consumptive behavior, particularly among employees. Uncontrolled consumptive behavior can negatively affect financial conditions, making it important to understand its influencing factors. This study aims to analyze the influence of lifestyle and self-control on consumptive behavior among employees of The Lab Indonesia. A quantitative approach with saturated sampling was employed, involving 60 employees. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using data quality tests, classical assumption tests, hypothesis testing, multiple linear regression, and the coefficient of determination. The results show that lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior (t = 6,649, p < 0,05). In contrast, self-control has a negative but insignificant effect (t = -1,051, p = 0,298). Simultaneously, lifestyle and self-control significantly affect consumptive behavior (F = 30,440, p < 0,05). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0,516) indicates that lifestyle and self-control explain 51,6% of the variation in consumptive behavior, while the remaining 48,4% is explained by other factors.
