The rapid growth of Indonesia’s coffee industry has increased the demand for workers with relevant barista competencies. This study aims to analyze the effects of job training and motivation on the competence of barista trainees at the East Jakarta Regional Vocational Training Center (PPKD). A quantitative survey method was employed, involving 67 respondents selected through purposive sampling from a population of 200 trainees in 2025. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results indicate that job training has a positive and significant effect on trainee competence, with a significance value of 0.000. Motivation also has a positive and significant effect, with a significance value of 0.022. Simultaneously, job training and motivation significantly affect trainee competence, with a significance value of 0.000 and a coefficient of determination of 43.2%. Job training contributes more substantially than motivation. Therefore, improving training quality while fostering trainee motivation is essential to enhance barista competence.
